The Max-Planck Institute of Immunobiology (MPI-IB) is an international and interdisciplinary research institution that conducts basic research in key areas of modern biology. At the MPI-IB, molecular immunologists, developmental geneticists, cell biologists and biochemists have been brought together to investigate the generation and function of the immune system, development of vertebrate embryos, cell signalling and the regulation of gene expression. State-of-the-art technologies and model organisms are used to unravel the mechanisms underlying these biological processes.
